Conservation Commissions'/Staff Role in Protecting Wildlife from Rodenticides
Conservation Commission members and their staff can play a critical role in educating their residents and municipal officials to stop using Rodenticide Poison. Heather Packard, Mass Audubon’s Community Organizer, presented about the harms of rodent poisons, alternative rodent control options, and how to get involved. One of Mass Audubon’s top advocacy priorities is its Rescue Raptors program which supports groups in communities across Massachusetts in reducing the use of these poisons on both municipal and private properties. Currently, only 30 municipalities have local advocate groups.
“Action Steps for ConComs and Staff”. This document outlines 7 action steps that we hope everyone will initiate in their community!
